EDDIE, A GOLDEN
BOY

Eddie, our very
handsome Golden boy with a wonderful smile and magnificent feathered
coat, is looking for a new, forever home. Eddie is 2
1/2 years old. He is a very friendly boy who enjoys playing ball,
swimming and outside play activities. Eddie is on vacation at
TOP DOG RESORT in Sioux Falls. The staff has taught Eddie good
training habits like sit, come, down, stay and off. He is
completely housetrained. Eddie will make a wonderful family
pet with family members who have time to give him exercise and
playtime. Eddie is energetic when he plays so we are
suggesting that any children in the family are 8 years and older. Pet Pals For Life had
Eddie neutered and his shots updated including bordatella. His
heartworm test was negative and he has been started on heart guard
and frontline. If you would like to adopt this splendid Golden, submit an
application which is accessed from our home page at

JACK THE HOUND
DOG

This cool looking 1 1/2 year old Hound mix is Jack.
He was adopted from the shelter as a very young pup. His present
owner has had him ever since. Jack is absolutely super with
children - the little baby can even put his hand in Jack's mouth and he
is fine with it. Jack has no aggressions at all. He does
love a fenced in backyard. If the front door is open, and he sees
children, Jack will bolt out the front so he can go play!! Jack
loves walks and playing fetch. He gets along with other dogs and
really enjoys the water. Jack is just one of those super friendly
boy dogs that does well with a family that has time to spend with him.
Jack is neutered, housetrained and his shots are current. He's a
magnificent family dog. Apply for Jack online at

MARLEY SUE

Marley Sue, our little Italian Greyhound, turned 1 year old on
January 29th, 2008. She is the epitome of "human's best friend".
Marley nuzzles her way into your heart and gives so much love.
Since she is used to being the center of attention, she may 'puppy
pout' if not given her due. Marley loves to play fetch
and tug of war. Balls are her favorite toy! She is extremely
energetic and requires an owner who is also energetic. Marley
does like to cuddle, especially under the covers to stay warm. When
she was younger, Marley had a lot of social anxiety around strangers
and other dogs. As she matures that is improving. Marley will
be the greatest dog for someone once she gets past the difficult
puppy years. Marley has been spayed, and is current on her shots.
She is still learning her housetraining skills.
Therefore she would do best in a structured environment,
including a feeding schedule, regular exercise, and being kenneled
when someone in the family is not able to watch her. Marley has
never had any experiences around kids and does get really nervous
around them. Since she does feel most threatened by children at
this point, it would be best if Marley is adopted into an adult only
home. Apply for Marley Sue online at

PYPER
AKA PEACHES

It is amazing
what vetting after years of neglect and over breeding, in addition to love
and tender care, can do for a little dog. We introduced you to Peaches
after we rescued her from a shelter where she had been taken after being
abandoned in a rural county in South Dakota. This tiny little dog
needed major surgeries to repair the damage from years of breeding puppies
for profit. She came through all the surgeries and was then placed
into foster care with Kari and her family. Since then, Peaches has
learned what it is like to be a pet, to be spoiled, to be part of a loving
family, how to walk up and down stairs, how to eat from a bowl, all the
things family pets should experience.
Peaches' foster
family has renamed her Pyper, and we are now looking for a new, forever home
for this little dog with the sweetest face and disposition. If you
would like to adopt this wonderful little girl, complete the adoption
application which is accessed on the left side of this homepage. Our
original story of Pyper aka Peaches is at the bottom of this page.

"I am Pyper.
I am looking for a family that will love and care for me. I am a very
'proud little girl' and will make a wonderful family pet."

BLACKIE - A
NEWFIE BOY
This totally cool Newfie/Retriever mix is Blackie. He is a ‘senior boy’
at the young age of 10. Sadly, Blackie was taken to the shelter the day
after Christmas when his family moved from a rural area to town. It is
so difficult for a senior dog to get adopted in a shelter. So Pet Pals
For Life took Blackie into their rescue. Cindy has been fostering
Blackie and has fallen in love with him because he is such a gentle dog
that only wants to follow her around and wait for loves and pets. But
Cindy has four large dogs of her own and Blackie does withdraw when they
are all around. He just waits for his time alone with Cindy. Blackie
is an easy dog with a wonderful curly coat and a beautiful head. Until
he came to Cindy’s home for foster, Blackie has always lived outside.
Now he is accustomed to being a house pet but still enjoys romps in the
backyard. This ‘young senior dog’ acts like a puppy with his tail held
high when he shows off for his foster mom. Cindy has considered keeping
Blackie. But she has come to the decision that what Blackie really
needs his own home where he doesn’t have to share attention with so many
other house dogs. If you would like to adopt Blackie, complete the
adoption application accessed

MERLE
THE SHELTIE

Meet Merle, a one
year old blue merle Sheltie. Merle was purchased as a
second Sheltie by his family. They have another Sheltie
who is very mellow and have decided Merle is too energetic for
them to train. He has been an outside dog up to this time
so his housetraining skills are not known. He does get
along well with other dogs and children. He is also fine
with cats. Pet Pals For Life would like to see Merle
become a house pet in a family that has time to work with him.
He will be neutered and his shots updated prior to adoption.
