Pets Adopted From Pet Pals For Life Will Be Spayed Or Neutered

NICCO AND SUSAN

This is the story of Nicco (formerly Gucci) and one of our Pet Pals For Life organizers, Susan.  Susan always reads the pet section in our local paper thoroughly.  She noticed an ad that read, "give away, an Italian Greyhound".  Susan called the number and the lady indicated she would give the dog to the first person who knocked on the door.  Susan pleaded with the lady to wait until she could come get him.  The lady agreed and Susan jumped in her car, drove out into the country and met Gucci, a beautiful, petite, adorable Italian Greyhound.

It was Saturday morning and Susan called Sharon, another Pet Pals For Life organizer, and asked her to come to Dr. Somers office to meet Gucci.  Susan also called Sylvia to see if she could board Gucci until a home could be found.

Dr. Somers checked Gucci over and said he appeared to be in good health.  Susan made an appointment for Monday to have Gucci neutered.  Shy on the ride to the office, Gucci blossomed with all the attention he was receiving and enjoyed playing with the clinic cat.  Tammy, one of Dr. Somers assistants, really took to Gucci's charm and asked if she could keep him for the week-end and would bring him to work with her on Monday for the neutering.

When Monday came, Tammy told us she had fallen in love with Gucci, as had the rest of her family and pets.  So instead of boarding Gucci with Sylvia, Tammy asked to foster Gucci, and possibly, adopt him.  And what was the end result?  Of course Tammy and her family decided to keep Gucci as part of their active household.  Did you have any doubts?

So now Gucci - whose name has been changed to Nicco - lives with Zeus the Rottie, three miniature pinchers (Dezoto, Tasha and Shilo), a cat named Scrappy and a geiko.  Nicco has the privilege of sleeping with Tammy and her husband and loves to play 'tug of war' with little stuffed animals.

What a wonderful ending to my story -  all because Susan reads the paper so thoroughly.

Love, Nicco

P.S.  A week later Susan rescued another dog named Twinkle.  Please read her story, too.
