Hello. My name is Rascal and I just got adopted from the Sioux Falls Humane Society. The people I used to live with weren't really mean to me but I usually spent at least 16 hours a day in my little kennel and I didn't like that. I was really lucky because I was only the Humane Society for one day. My friend Susan just happened to be there when I came in and she thought I was really cute so she started looking for a home for me. She made a few phone calls and Mary said she would to see me but they were leaving the next day to go out of town. Mary called the Humane Society at 3:15 and they said it was too late today because they were closing early. Mary was real upset because she wanted to see me before they closed. So Susan called Sandy and Sandy called the Humane Society and Begged them to just let her have me for the night. (Are you following all this? It was a hectic few hours.) So Sandy flew down and picked me up. I hated it there and was really scared, but I left with Sandy. From there we went to Susan's house so Mary could come over and see me. I'm so cute Mary fell in love with me right away. She decided to get me to Dr. William's office right away for a checkup to see what he thought. Dr. Williams said I looked great and would make a great pal for Mary's other dog Snoopy! But now we have another problem. Mary is leaving in the morning and I don't want to go back in a kennel so Sandy said I can come and stay with her and Jeff for a few days. So right now I'm at Sandy & Jeff's having a great time. We get to play fetch and watch TV together. I get to wrestle with Jeff and sit on Sandy's lap for lots of hugs. In the morning I even get to get in bed with Sandy while Jeff is in the shower. The best yet - last night we went to Dairy Queen! Jeff and Sandy said their dog Samantha uses to love DQ - so do I. I'll have to teach Mary & Bob about Dairy Queen. I wonder if they ever go there? Mary calls Sandy each night to find out how I'm doing and to see if I am being good - of course Sandy told her I am perfect - not one accident in the house! Bob and Mary will be home in a couple of days and I will go to live with them and Snoopy, and a turtle, bird, & fish, for the rest of my life. And another BEST thing is Sandy & Jeff live close to Bob & Mary so they can come visit anytime they want and maybe they can baby-sit me again sometime. I must be the luckiest dog in all of Sioux Falls! Love & Lots of Kisses, Rascal
